"It’s now official: LaDainian Tomlinson no longer is a member of the Chargers. After nine record-setting seasons, Tomlinson was released Monday by the club, with president and CEO Dean Spanos delivering the news in a meeting with the running back. Tomlinson owns or shares 28 team records, including career rushing yards, yards from scrimmage and touchdowns. He ranks third all-time in the NFL with 153 touchdowns and eighth with 12,490 rushing yards. He was the NFL Most Valuable Player in 2006 when he scored a record 31 touchdowns. "
